Website redesign

The website has been given a new layout in attempt to reduce clutter and better utilize browser window space. Amazingly, computer monitors are wider than they are tall, so a third column was desired.  

The template was obtained free from the internet with the following description:

"White Space is a minimalistic 3-column Wordpress Theme, original [sic] designed by Brian Gardner. ThemeLib converted it from Wordpress Theme to xml Blogger Template for Blog*Spot bloggers."

Comments about the new look are very welcome.

"Snow in the East Village" video

A quick attempt to make a visual poem about the snow, and test out the capabilities of iMovie HD. February 3, 2009.  It is hosted on Facebook but it should be visible to anyone, not just my Facebook friends.

I also uploaded it to YouTube (embedded below), but as I suspected, the YouTube compression lessened the image quality--specifically it became darker throughout--and the normal quality YouTube default audio is mono instead of stereo, so I think I'd rather share this video from Facebook.

Delurking Day '09

Today is apparently Delurking Day, a day for all blog readers to stop "lurking," and make their presence known to bloggers. I can't seem to find an official website for Delurking Day but it does seem to have a logo. Since I don't like the cartoon logo, I shall not post it here, but you may see it at "Jane's Garden" blog, where I encountered it. H/T (hat tip) to Jane for making it known to me.  Okay, please delurk now.

Updating my Linked In profile

New website launched/old website archived!

UPDATE 12/16/2008: Road Runner forced migration of personal home pages to a new system, so the old TXC Information Centre site is now at http://home.roadrunner.com/~txc/

The tomxchao.com domain will now direct to this blog page, the TXC Information Centre v3.0. The old "handmade" site will still be available at http://home.nyc.rr.com/txc/ for archival purposes. Hopefully this new blog-style website will make updating easier, and allow for a one-stop hub linking to all of Tom's online content. Please feel free to leave your comments regarding the new look.
